A wonderful simple year of you

In two days you should be turning 3.

We would have had 3 whole wonderful years with you.

But we only had 1 year. I wish I could remember it all, every blissful day that you and I existed in the same world.

Today I looked through my thousands of photos, I’m so happy I have them.

What a year you had, it was quite simple really, we didn’t go far or do anything crazy or fancy.

Just a lovely life of lovely little you.

These dates may seem like nothing to others, but they are everything, they are the story of your life.

It was a pleasure to be there for it.

You were born on the 13th of April,

Had your first trip to Starbucks on the 2nd of May,

Joined Moo music and baby sensory on the 24th of May (busy day!),

Felt the sand on your toes at Nairn beach for the first time on the 8th of July,

Came on a caravan holiday to sunny lossiemouth on the 19th of July.

Rolled over on the 11th of August,

Sat up yourself on the 2nd of October,

Started nursery in the 1st of December,

Seen snow on the 13th of Dec,

Tried and loved the slide at Frankie and Lola’s on the 18th of Feb,

Went to a lodge with a hot tub in Dingwall on the 20th of Feb,

Enjoyed your first milky bar on the 14th of March,

Walked with your walker all by yourself on the 4th of April,

Fed a lamb on the 9th of April,

Had your amazing birthday party and turned one on the 13th of April

Went to see a dinosaur show on the 16th of April,

Met your friends at fishes cafe on the 25th of April,

Went on your first bus trip on the 27th of April

You never woke up on the 28th of April, you never woke up Albie. There’s no more pictures.

But I have a secret spot for you in my mind where I remember the things not on camera…you’re just woke up confused smile, the feel of your hands as you’d grab my cheeks, the smell of your sweet breath after having lots of milk, the weight of you as I’d throw you up in the air…I can still feel you kid.

I wonder what you would have done in your 3rd year?

I bet you would have went down the even bigger slide at Frankie and Lola’s!

Oh and sorry for making you do silly things like wear a Dino egg on your head! You were still adorable.
