Joys of an iphone

14/7/25

Oh hey there my little Albie

My phone has started doing this sweet thing where it flashes up with memories of this day in previous years.

You’re always there, we had you for 54 blissful weeks so luckily there’s not a single day of the year that you didn’t feature in, a full calendar of memories.

Most the time the pictures are just of you and your brothers. Actually I shouldn’t use the word ‘just’.

See I’m sure in the pictures we are different places, with different people and doing different things. But that’s not the sight that mattered most to me…most importantly was the look on your faces. The glints in your eyes.

Only recently I went to the circus with your brothers and it was great! If however I were asked about which tricks were performed I’m not sure I could give much detail.

See for me the best show isn’t the trapeze or the clown or even the moterbikes wizzing round a ball. For me…it’s always been you boys.

I just love to watch you watch it, watch you do life. In awe.

Watching you gasp and laugh and even video it for snap chat story (teens only, no phones yet little ones!😉).

That for me is the best show on earth, and how lucky I am to be watching your brothers grow.

How lucky I was to get to watch 54 weeks of you grow and giggle.

But is it still ok to say how unlucky and unfair and unbelievably broken I am that I don’t get to keep watching you? I wasn’t ready for it to end, to stop. I wasn’t ready to not see you.

How I wish I could watch you.

However even without being able to see you next to me giggling and a tiny bit scared of the clown at the circus…I am still completely in awe of you every single day my precious darling Albie. Seeing you in not a necessity for that to happen.

So here you are…3 years ago (is that right?? Feels like yesterday, also feels like decades ago) on this very day.

Nothing special happened that day, yet you guys smiling- I knew it was worth taking a picture.

You were here, you were happy.
