Guess what Albie…
Today we went on a treasure hunt an incredible mum had organised, we had to find all the pirates. You were one of the pirates! We were so excited to find you and see your super cool pirate hat. And I just love to see your name. I love to hear it too and goodness I love to say it.
These days most the time I say it in conversation when I’m chatting about you, I chat about you lots (I’m a very proud mummy)
But sometimes I indulge myself, when I’m walking through the avenue or driving in the car alone I let myself say your name out loud -in that sing song voice I would if you were right here by my side.
It’s so nice to say it. I used to say it so much when you were here…
An excited ‘Albie!🤩’ as you’d greet me with hugs after I’d come in from work.
A proud disbelieving ‘Albie!?😍’ as if you’d somehow get from the living room to kitchen in just seconds.
An urgent ‘Albie😲’ as you’d try and climb the stairs the moment you see your opportunity of the stair gate being left open.
A gentle slow ‘Albieee😴’ when I’d wake you from a nap way past 4pm which you really shouldn’t have been having if bedtime were to be successful. I think that’s my favourite, when your sleepy eyes would scrunch and slowly open and then you’d smile, so happy to be awake.
Oh how many ways to say your name, how many things I said to you, but how many more I still need to say.
Can you hear me now lil one?
Albieeee, time to wake up now baby, there’s so much fun things for us to do.
You’ve been sleeping far too long.
❤️❤️❤️
