Hey you,
The shops are full of Mother’s Day goodies, I’m sure I will receive some lovely things come Sunday.
I hope you don’t feel left out, no one to jump on early on Sunday morning, no snuggling up under the covers.
I hope you don’t think of all the flowers displayed so beautifully but be unsure of favorite colors or how to work out which coins to pay with. Do even use money?
I hope you maybe even have a post man who can deliver your card all the distance it needs to travel, that is know is me just wishfully thinking.
Yes I wonder how it feels for you to be somewhere I am not. Without your mum on Mother’s Day, and all the days.
But darling you are not alone.
You will be surrounded by wonderful mums.
All those women who have wiped faces and tied shoe laces and cooked many dinners.
All those women who have hugged away bad dreams and text with just the right thing to say.
All those women who long to witness their children or adults live their very best life, but knowing that may be difficult without them.
They’re probably feeling a bit sad too just now. Away from the little or big people. Unable to be treated to a carvery.
So I hope this Sunday you find each other.
I hope they spoil you in all the ways a mother does and you fill them with warmth the way bc a child does.
Not to replace but simply standing in for duty.
That’s what mums do isn’t it, we stand united to make sure everyone is ok, no one is left out.
So settle down with them.
Have scones with cream and jam (jam first ok!). Tell stories to each other and let them sing whilst you do the actions. Draw them a picture to make them smile. And to make you smile.
No one will be alone. No mother nor child. Even at Mother’s Day…in the sky.
And Please don’t spend the day missing me.
But if you do get a second at the end of the day…just draw me a sunset darling.
And think of me, I’ll most certainly be thinking of you
Love
Your Mum xxx
To all the mums and children in the sky, I hope you find each other ❤️
